WORDS  OF  INSPIRATION

Give it to GOD!!!

What did you wake up worried about today?  Has it caused you to lose your appetite?  You’re finding that some nights it challenging to sleep? Whatever is on your mind is stressing you out!

RIGHT HERE! RIGHT NOW! Give it to GOD!   God wants you to give Him your burdens.

I can remember a number of years ago my ex-husband and I had come to the end of the road.  The end because he wanted to travel a new road with a different woman.  One night in particular he left the house to do whatever he was doing, with whoever he was doing it with!  I sat on our bed crying my eyes out.  Something or should I say God lead me to grab my pink Woman’s Devotional Bible, where I found a prayer wheel.

On the prayer wheel was a section that talked about worrying.  The scripture was, Luke 12:22-28:

22Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! 25Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest? 27"Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you-you of little faith!

I read it, and read it again.  It didn’t stop the feeling of hurt instantaneously but it did help me to start having a different outlook.

After that night of my emotional roller coaster, that scripture was the scripture that I would read when I was faced with fear and worry.  After having read the scripture over a number of years, I found myself going to my Bible to read it less and less.  That happened because I had learned and experienced the goodness of God’s glory.  The things that I had let bother me in the past no longer affected me the same way.

Now this isn’t to say that I’m not faced with obstacles, but to say that giving things to our Heavenly Father makes a world of difference.  When we let go and trust and believe that He will take care of and equip us with the things we need the burden, the obstacles, the weight of our challenges lessen.

I will close with this:

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding.
